Targetted findings (select ) will limit the search to only that exact symptom (or subcategories of that symptom). For example, targetted search with "abdominal pain (left upper quadrant)" will not include diseases containing the more general "abdominal pain" symptom.
By adding current comorbid diseases, complications from these diseases (that could explain the above findings) will be appropriately presented as more common in the differential.
Note: Complicating diseases may still contain results that are not age compatible.
Degree of Complications
Fewer will give faster searches, but will limit potential results.
Note that only one possible disease complication set is shown even if multiple possibilities exist. Preferred solutions are those which have symptoms localized within the same complicating disease.
Important! Please Read.
This feature is in beta. The disease database is still in its infancy and does not include some common (and many uncommon) diseases. As a result, calculated differentials will miss many potential etiologies. Nephrological diseases, however, are well represented.
